Would you like to learn more about winter swimming? If the answer is YES then this workshop is for you!
The workshop has been created to develop the knowledge of those wishing to swim through the winter and will include a combination of classroom discussions on safe and practical approaches to swimming in cold water as well as a short in-water session in Loch Insh.
Duration: The course will run for 2.5 hours, finishing with soup and a hot drink in the Boathouse Restaurant.

Who is this workshop for?
Β People who are new to winter swimming and would like to gain knowledge and practical experience of cold water swimming in a safe environment.
People who have swum in the winter before but would like to increase their knowledge of winter swim safety, physiology & psychology. The more we can be aware of the risks, our personal limits and other swimmers around us, the better and safer for us all.

Coaches
Alice Goodridge and Sarah Wiseman are both experienced cold water swimmers. Alice has been swimming over the winters (non-wetsuit) for nearly a decade and has competed in many winter/ice swimming competitions. She successfully completed an Ice Mile in 2018. Alice and Sarah were both placed in their age group in the 2019 UK Ice Swimming Championships 1km event.
Both Alice and Sarah are ASA Level 2 swimming teachers and STA/ASA Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coaches with years of experience teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities in the pool and in open water. Both are qualified Beach Lifeguards (RLSS NVBLQ), hold up to date Outdoor First Aid certificates and have completed the STA CPD on Winter Swimming Safety. In addition, Sarah is currently training to become an STA/RLSS trainer assessor.
