This time of year is always a bit stressful behind the scenes at SwimWild HQ, with a mammoth amount of pre-event organising to do and hoping that our booking system can cope with hundreds of swimmers trying to enter the Scottish Winter Swimming Championships at the same time! ⁠

Thankfully everything worked like clockwork this time! 🕰️🙂⁠
We're glad that the lion's share of event entries are now done for another year! 🎉🙌⁠

If you are on the waiting list for #SWSC2023 keep an eye out for invitations to confirm your place over the next week or so, as we update our timetables and make space for a couple of extra heats.⁠

Well done to everyone who managed to get confirmed entries for the Scottish Winter Swimming Championships this morning! 🙌⁠
⁠
The 50m Head-up breaststroke event sold out in record time (less than 19 mins) despite a big increase in capacity from last year's event! ⁠
⁠
Most events are now full (with waiting lists) but if you missed out don't despair - IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO ENTER!!⁠
⁠
We still have space in the 450m endurance event and 4 x 50m Mixed Team Relay. ⁠🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️🏊️⁠

Also, it is 100% worth joining the waiting list for any events you would like to swim in. Many people on the list will get invitations to swim when we open up the final heats. ⁠

Dates: Friday 24th - Sunday 26th February 2023 ⁠
Location: Taymouth Marina, Loch Tay⁠
⁠
Entries open THIS Wednesday (30th November) at 8am. ⁠
⁠
Entries will only be received through SiEntries (a link will be added to the event page on our website shortly)⁠.⁠
⁠
Last year most events sold out within 30 minutes! This year we've slightly extended capacity but we are still anticipating this to sell out fast 🌪️😱⁠
⁠
We also ask you NOT to book accommodation before entering, as having booked accommodation does not guarantee you entry into the event. ⁠
⁠
Here are some tips to help you enter on Wednesday: ⁠
⁠
❄️ Check the race timings on the website (link in bio). Choose which events you would like to enter.⁠ ⁠
⁠
❄️ Sign up to SiEntries prior to entries opening. You can do this on the left-hand side of their homepage - click 'Register Here'. Or click the SiEntries link in our bio. Preregistering will ensure your details are loaded into the system, helping to speed up the entry process.⁠ ⁠
⁠
If you have entered an SiEntries event before, check your details are correct and you know how to log in! ⁠
⁠
Please note that the SiEntries may be down for maintenance for a couple of hours from 9am on 29th November. ⁠
⁠
❄️ For relays, one lead booker needs to be allocated to enter for the entire team. You will need 4x swimmer details; including SiEntries ID, Full Name & Email Address. You will also be asked to enter a team name. ⁠
⁠
❄️ For mixed team relays on Saturday 25th you will need at least 1x male and 1x female within the relay team. For the 'Anything Goes' relay on Sunday 26th teams can be all-female, all-male, or mixed. ⁠
⁠
❄️ All entries require emergency contact and medical information. ⁠

❄️ Have your payment card ready as payment is needed to secure your entry.⁠
⁠
❄️ It is 100% worth joining the waiting list, as we may have the capacity to increase the number of heats for certain races later on. ⁠
